Filing a Complaint in the Cook County Circuit Court

Jim Morici, a Chicago personal injury lawyer at Morici Figlioli and Associates, explains the process of filing a complaint in the Cook County circuit court. He explains that when an attorney files a complaint on behalf of the client, a copy given to the Sheriff’s department and another copy is formally delivered to the individual who is being sued. Normally, the party being sued will forward their copy to their insurance company. The majority of pending lawsuits in Cook County are between insurance companies and injured parties.
