Exercise safety when visiting the new mall

The Fashion Outlets of Chicago is located in Rosemont just south of the Balmoral Avenue off-ramp from the northbound Tri-State Tollway (I-294). It is conveniently located just minutes from O'Hare International Airport and about 15 miles from downtown Chicago. It will be the only outlet mall in the Northwest suburbs with approximately 130 high-end retail outlets.

The new mall will be home to anchors such as Bloomingdale's The Outlet Store, Neiman Marcus Last Call, Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5th, Forever 21, Gucci, Tory Burch, and Barneys New York. The mall will open its doors for the first time to thousands of eager shoppers on Thursday, August 1.

Officials recommend that shoppers use public transit, options listed below:

Bus

There are several Pace busses, try routes 811, 810, 303, 326, 332 and 895. Also, a Pace bus will shuttle shoppers from the Rosemont CTA Blue Line "L" stop. For details on the bus schedule, please visit their website: www.pacebus.com

Special Bus Route via the (Pace) Entertainment Circulator

The Village of Rosemont has partnered with Pace bus service to develop the new Entertainment Circulator, Pace Route 811, which will be completely free to riders. Among other stops, this bus route will also make a stop at the Fashion Outlets of Chicago. Buses will run approximately every 10 minutes, or so. For more information check out these websites: www.fashionoutletsofchicago.com and www.pacebus.com

L Train

The closest L Train station is located at the Rosemont Blue Line. You can get off there and head south on N River Road, then head west on Technology Boulevard, until you reach the Fashion Outlets of Chicago. The walk should not take you more than 20 minutes. Visit www.transitchicago.com for departure/arrival times.

Metra Train

Metra riders can access the mall from the Rosemont Metra station on the North Central Service Line. A schedule can be found at www.metrarail.com

From the Airport or Hotel

A shuttle, Go Airport Express, takes you from O’Hare airport to the mall. You can also catch the shuttle from various participating Rosemont hotels.

Bicycle

This is a great option if you live in the nearby area, but not close enough that you can walk. Unfortunately, there are no designated bike racks or secure areas to leave your bicycles. Mall security and the general manager report that if you decide to leave your bicycle on the premises, it is completely at your own risk and liablity, so use caution, or go with another option of transportation.

Walk

A very favorable option if you live close by. Just remember to be alert and pay attention to traffic lights and oncoming traffic.

Car or Motorcycle - driving yourself

If you take the Tri-State Tollway (I-294), exit at Balmoral Avenue. If you take I-190, exit at River Road-South. Otherwise, consider using your GPS, or click here to view detailed directions.

Parking for the grand opening weekend of August 1st through August 4th is completely free. Parking fees go into effect on Monday, August 5. However, check the mall's website, since prices and fees are subject to change. Shoppers are persuaded to take advantage of public transportation in order to reduce traffic congestion and avoid the expense of parking.

The law office of Morici, Longo & Associates (MLA) encourages everyone to be cautious and to anticipate traffic jams and impatient drivers. Take the most convenient and appropriate means of transportation and always execute safety.
