Chicago Personal Injury Attorney: Household Items that can Cause Burn Injuries

In this segment Chicago personal injury lawyer, Jim Morici discusses products that can present burn hazards. Chicago consumer product safety expert Dan Pacheco talks about some really horrific injuries. Burn victims suffer one of the most difficult injuries to overcome, the risk of infection, and debridement of the dead skin layers is an excruciating process. Common everyday activities can be hazardous and potentially propose a dangerous situation. Burn injuries can happen when refueling a lawn mower that has a hot engine. Most people have to refuel a lawn mower after they have been using it, many people wouldn't think to let the engine cool down before refueling. If gas is accidentally spilled onto the hot engine it could ignite. Barbeque grill that are run off of propane are another example that can cause burn injuries if used improperly. There could be a propane leak and if you aren't aware of it you can get a sudden flash fire, this is an important thing to keep an eye on. Make sure the line is closed after you are done use. Always let the flame go and turn off at tank and let the flame go through the entire line otherwise there could be problems. Chicago personal injury attorney, Jim Morci also talks about the portable heating and the hazards that they present. Keeping these items in good working order and in the proper area away from flammable clothes and materials will help protect from getting burned.
