A CTA bus collided with a vehicle on the North Side, injuring the bus driver in the Lake View neighborhood Friday morning.

At 7:22 a.m., a No. 9X Ashland Express bus was traveling north on North Ashland Avenue when it collided with a vehicle at the West Belmont Avenue intersection, CTA spokeswoman Kim Myles said.

The driver of the bus suffered non-life threatening injuries, Myles said. Myles said she did not know if anyone from the vehicle was injured.

The driver was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries, police News Affairs Officer Robert Perez said. The person in the vehicle was not injured in the crash.
Myles did not immediately know how many customers were on board the bus at the time.
The bus remained at the scene at 8 a.m. and officials were investigating the incident.
