Route 59 in southwest suburban Plainfield has been reopened following a three-vehicle crash in which four people were injured Saturday night.
The crash happened at Illinois Route 59 and Wedgewood Court about 10:07 p.m. Route 59 was shut down in both directions from Fraser Road to West Rolf Road for a few hours, according to Plainfield police. As of about 4:20 a.m. Sunday, Route 59 had been reopened according to a Plainfield police dispatcher.
The conditions of the four people injured were not immediately available, Plainfield police said. A Dodge pickup truck, a two-door Nissan and a two-door Honda were involved in the crash. The scene was "kind of a mess,” a Plainfield police officer said. One injured man had to be cut out of his car using the jaws of life, police said. Police did not yet have any additional details on the crash as of about 4:20 a.m. Sunday.
