Four people were taken to area hospitals following a traffic accident just west of Lake Shore Drive downtown this morning, but there were no serious injuries, a Fire Department spokesman said.

Emergency crews responded to the auto crash in the 400 block of East Randolph Street at 8:19 a.m., said fire spokesman Richard Rosado.

Two people were taken in fair-to-serious condition to Northwestern Memorial Hospital following the crash; two were taken to Mercy Hospital and Medical Center, one in fair-to-serious condition, the other in good-to-fair condition, Rosado said.

Police did not immediately have information available about the accident.
